🚀 1. Getting Started

Installing the App

Step 1: Open showandshineapp.com in Chrome (Android) or Safari (iPhone).

Step 2: Tap the browser menu → "Add to Home Screen" (Android) or Share → "Add to Home Screen" (iPhone).

Step 3: Launch Show & Shine from your home screen — it runs full-screen like a native app.

⚠️ Opening from Facebook or Messenger? Those apps open links in their own mini-browser, where location can't be found. Tap the ⋮ or ••• menu and choose Open in Chrome (or Safari) — the app will warn you with a yellow banner when it detects this.

📍 Already on the old gtcustomz.com address? We moved! If a "Show & Shine moved!" card pops up when you open the app, tap Switch to the new address, log in once at showandshineapp.com, then delete your old home-screen icon and re-add it from the new address — that's what keeps your reminders and the Redline Bell working. Same account, same cars, same everything.

Creating Your Account

Step 1: Tap Sign Up on the welcome screen.

Step 2: Pick a username and set a password (8+ characters).

Step 3: Pick your state from the dropdown — this is required.

Step 4: Pick your city from the dropdown (it fills in after you choose a state).

Step 5: Upload a profile photo (optional but recommended).

On the login screen you'll also see Continue with Google and Continue with Facebook buttons. Tap one, approve, and you're almost in — no password to invent or remember.

The first time, the app asks for just three quick things: a username, your city, and your state (shows are local, so we still need those). Your name, email, and profile photo come across automatically.

Already have an account? If your Google or Facebook email matches it, the app connects them — same garage, same clubs, one account. You can also connect them later any time in the Me tab → 🔗 Connected accounts. Email + password login always works too — use whichever door you like.

⚠️ Already a member, but your Google or Facebook uses a different email? Don't finish the quick-join form — that would start a second, empty account. Instead, log in the normal way, then connect from Me → 🔗 Connected accounts. Already ended up with two accounts by accident? No harm done — send a bug report from the Help tab and we'll merge them for you.

💡 Tip: Your state powers the state chat rooms and the online list — picking the right one is what lets your crew see you online.

💡 Tip: Enable push notifications when prompted — you'll get reminders on the morning of every show you RSVP to!

⏰ 4. RSVP & Reminders

How RSVP Works

Step 1: Open any show and tap ⭐ RSVP.

Step 2: Your name appears in the "Who's Going" list.

Step 3: On the morning of the show (8 AM Eastern), you'll get a push notification reminding you — and it includes the day's forecast for the show (sun/rain, high & low, rain chance), so your morning weather check is done before you even open the app.

Watching the week? Your 🏁 Starting Line has a 🌦️ Your Week strip: every show you're Going or Saved to in the next 7 days, each with its own forecast. One glance tells you which days are safe and which are dicey.

🔔 If the Show Changes — You Hear About It

Shows move — rain dates, venue changes, cancellations. If a show you're Going to (or Saved) changes its date, time, or venue, the app alerts you two ways: a push notification on your phone, and a red 🔔 bell alert at the top of the app that stays until you've seen it.

Tap the 🔔 bell any time to see your show alerts. Tap an alert to jump straight to the show and see the new plan. So if a Saturday show gets rained out to Sunday the night before, you know before you roll out — not when you reach an empty lot.

And it's impossible to miss: while an alert (or an unread message) is waiting, the 🔔 bell swings and glows like it's on fire up top. We call it the Redline Bell — the moment something's waiting, the bell turns into a flaming tachometer with the needle bouncing off the redline until you tap it and catch up. Once you've read everything, it calms right back down.

⛔ If a Show Is Cancelled

Sometimes a show doesn't just move — it's called off. A cancelled show stays listed, wearing a red ⛔ CANCELLED banner on its card and a big banner at the top of its page, so you see the news instead of wondering why it vanished. It stops counting in the upcoming totals, but it never silently disappears on people who were counting on it.

If you're Going or Saved, you hear about a cancellation the same way as any other change — push notification plus the 🔔 bell — including the organizer's note when there is one, like "Moved to Sat Oct 24."

Posted the show yourself? Open it and tap ⛔ Cancel show (right next to Edit show). You can add a note for attendees, and if the show comes back to life, the same button becomes ↩️ Undo cancellation.

Just want the list of what's off? In the Shows tab, tap the ⛔ Cancelled button in the toolbar — it lists only cancelled shows (this weekend's rain-outs included), across all states, each with the organizer's note. Tap it again to return to the full list. The search box still works while it's on, so you can check a specific show by name.

🌧️ Rained out? The show goes virtual. A cancelled show's page becomes a 🚗 Virtual Garage Crawl — the cars of everyone who was Going line up right under the banner, photos and all. Tap any car to tour its owner's garage. The show may be off, but the car people still get their Saturday.

Enabling Push Notifications

Step 1: Go to the 👤 Me tab.

Step 2: Find the 🔔 Notifications toggle.

Step 3: Turn it ON. If it's already on, toggle it off and back on to re-register.

💡 Tip: No notification? Check that your phone allows notifications for the app/site in your system settings.

Every show has its own live chat. Coordinate meetups, share excitement, post photos and videos!

What You Can Share

💬 Text messages — just type and send.
📸 Photos — tap + → photo icon. Images auto-shrink for fast uploads.
🎥 Videos — tap + → video icon. Up to 50MB. You'll see an "Uploading… %" progress pill at the top.
🎤 Voice messages — hold the mic button to record.

💡 Tip: The upload button locks while sending so you can't accidentally double-post. Just wait for the ✅.

How to Vote

Step 1: On the show page, scroll to 🏆 People's Choice Voting.

Step 2: Under each category, type which car you're voting for (e.g. "1969 Camaro").

Step 3: Tap 📷 to snap a photo of the car (optional but fun!).

Step 4: Tap Vote. Done!

📝 7. Posting a Show

Know about a show that's not listed? Add it!

Step 1: Tap the ＋ button on the Shows tab.

Step 2: Fill in the title, time, and venue. For the date, just type it (like 10/18/2026) — or tap the 📅 button to pick it from a calendar.

Step 3: Add the address — start typing the city and pick from suggestions.

Step 4: Upload a flyer photo (optional).

Step 5: Tap Post Show. It's live immediately!

Plans change? Open your show any time to ✏️ Edit it — or, if it's called off, tap ⛔ Cancel show and everyone Going or Saved hears about it (see §4). Cancelling keeps the listing visible with a red banner instead of deleting it, and you can undo it if the show is back on.

💡 Tip: Include the address so the 🧭 Directions button and weather forecast work for everyone.

Show off your rides! Your garage is your personal collection, visible on your profile.

Adding a Car

Step 1: Go to 🚗 Garage tab → tap + Add Car.

Step 2: Enter year, make, model, and details.

Step 3: Add up to 10 photos per car. They auto-shrink for fast uploads.

Step 4: Tap Save.

Managing Photos

Tap + Photos on any car to add more (up to 10 total).
Tap the ✕ on any photo to delete it.
Photos display as a swipeable strip on your car card.

💡 Tip: Tap anyone's username anywhere in the app to view their profile and garage!

🔥 Garage Crawl

At the top of the Garage tab, switch to 🔥 Garage Crawl to browse other members' garages — tap any garage to take the tour, and tap photos to see them full-size.

Your garage is public by default so others can admire your rides. Tap 👁 Public in My Garage to switch it to 🔒 Private anytime.

❤️ Liking Photos

While touring someone's garage in the Crawl, every photo has a 🤍 like button in the corner.

Tap the heart to like a photo — it turns ❤️ red.
Tap the count next to the heart to see who liked it.
Tap again to unlike.

Your 👤 Me tab is command central:

🔔 Push Notifications — toggle reminders on/off.
🧭 Navigation App — pick Google Maps, Waze, or Apple Maps for directions.
🎨 Themes — car movie/TV themes (Knight Rider, Dukes of Hazzard, etc.), each with its own animated effects: KITT's red scanner bar, Bandit's gold sweep, neon underglow on Nitro, sunset on General Lee, and more. There's also 🦇 Batman — deep black with yellow accents, straight out of Gotham. The default Show & Shine look is the flagship: blood-red banner with rolling racing stripes, spotlight sweep, checkered-flag strip, and carbon-fiber texture.
🔄 App Updates — the version number in the top bar is tappable: tap it anytime to check for and pull the latest app version.
❓ Help & Support — one hub in the Me tab with this user guide (searchable), bug reporting, contacting GTCustomz, and quick answers to common questions. Its ℹ️ About Show & Shine button opens the app's info page — what the app is, everything it does, and how to get it — handy for showing a friend.

🔒 Your Privacy — The Short Version

Show & Shine is not in the data business, and the app is built so you don't have to take our word for it:

We never sell your information — not your email, not your activity, not anything. To anyone. Ever.
We can't read your password. It's stored scrambled (as a secure hash). If you forget it, we can reset it — but nobody can ever look it up.
Google / Facebook sign-in: we never see or store that password. They verify you on their side and send us only your name and email.
Your email is never shown to other members, and no advertising trackers run in the app.
Location is only live while you use it (Near Me, Cruise Mode) — we keep no location history.

🛣️ 14. Trip Planner

Planning a Road Trip?

Save shows into trips and see them all on one route map.

Step 1: Open any show and tap 🛣️ Add to Trip.

Step 2: Pick an existing trip or create a new one.

Step 3: Open the 🛣️ Trips tab (in the ☰ More menu) to see your route map with numbered stops.

Managing Trips

Rename trips — open a trip and tap ✏️ Rename to give it a better name.
Reorder stops — drag or use the arrows to change your route order.
Remove shows — tap ✕ on any stop.
Delete trips — remove trips you're done with.

Nearby Shows on the Route Map

When you open a trip's route map, you'll also see gold pins for other shows within ~100 miles of your route. Tap any gold pin to see the show details — there's a + Add to trip button right in the popup if you want to add it to your route!

Map Styles, Day & Night

The route map has a 🌗 style button — tap it to cycle Auto → ☀️ Day → 🌙 Night. Auto means light by day and dark from 7 PM to 7 AM. Both styles are black & white — clean gray by day, charcoal at night — easy on the eyes in the car, and your choice carries over to the Shows and Cruise maps too.

💡 Tip: Trips are tied to your account, so they appear on both your phone and desktop!

🎨 15. Flyer Builder

Make Show Flyers — a Real Little Editor

Design eye-catching flyers for car clubs and shows — right in the app, with your own photos, stickers, text, and drawings.

💻 Desktop tip: The Flyer Builder works on your phone — but it's a design tool, and design wants a big canvas. Open showandshineapp.com on a computer, log in with the same account, and build your flyer with a mouse and room to see (§16). Your flyer is saved to your account either way.

Step 1: Open the 🎨 Flyer tab (in the ☰ More menu).

Step 2: Pick from 10 themes — each with its own car and style:

📷 Add photos — up to 6 of your own on one flyer; the first photo you add takes the hero spot. On a computer, you can also drag & drop photo files straight onto the flyer.
Stickers — 🔥 🏁 🚗 💨 ⭐ 🏆 ❤️ 😎 — tap one to drop it on the flyer.

Draw on It — the Paint Toolbar

Across the top of the builder is a paint-style toolbar, just like a drawing program:

🖱️ Select — the normal mode: tap anything on the flyer to pick it up and move it.
🖌️ Brush — draw freehand right on the flyer: flames, arrows, underlines, your signature.
⬜ Rect • ⭕ Circle • ╱ Line — drag on the flyer to draw the shape any size you want.
🎨 Colors — 10 colors to draw with. Tap a color while an item is selected to recolor it.
✒️ Stroke — slide to make your brush and shape outlines thick or thin.

Move It, Size It, Tilt It

Tap or click any item — photo, sticker, text, or drawing — to select it, then drag it where you want it. The panel for the selected item gives you:

Size, Tilt (−60° to +60°), and Fade sliders.
Layer up / down buttons and a 🗑 delete button.

The Layers panel lists everything on the flyer — the top of the list is the front of the flyer. Click a layer to select it, and use the layer buttons to change what's in front.

Add Your Own Text

Type in the text box and tap add to stamp your own words on the flyer — a club name, "RAIN OR SHINE", anything. Pick from 6+ colors, flip Bold on or off, and you can edit the words later just by selecting the text again.

Save It — and Re-open It Later

Step 4: Tap 💾 Save flyer — the flyer is saved to your account, layout and all.

Step 5: Find it under My saved flyers, below the canvas. Tap ✏️ Edit to reopen it — photos, text, stickers, and drawings all come back, ready to change. Saving again updates the same flyer.

Step 6: Tap 🆕 Start a new flyer for a fresh canvas, or ⬇ Download any time for a share-ready PNG.

💡 Tip: A flyer can hold up to 30 items total (photos still max out at 6) — plenty of room to get creative.

💡 Tip: From any show page, tap 🎨 Make Flyer to pre-fill the builder with that show's details!

💡 Tip: On a phone, the builder stacks — form on top, flyer below, saved flyers under that. On desktop everything sits side-by-side.

Full Desktop Experience

Open showandshineapp.com on your computer for the full desktop layout with a sidebar.

🖥️ Better on the Big Screen

Everything in the app works on your phone — but some jobs are desk work, and they're just happier with a mouse, a keyboard, and room to see:

🎨 Building flyers (§15) — the Flyer Builder is a design studio. It runs on a phone, but nobody's laying out a flyer on a 6-inch screen when a 24-inch one is right there.
📝 Posting & planning shows (§7) — long descriptions, dates, details and flyer uploads go faster with a real keyboard.
🔨 Writing build threads (§19) — telling the whole story of a build, with all its photos, deserves a full-size keyboard.
🗺️ Trip planning & the map — plotting a weekend of shows is easier when you can see the whole picture at once.

Everything else — RSVPs, chats, check-ins, Cruise Mode — is phone-first, made for the show field. And whichever screen you use, it's the same account: start a flyer at your desk, check the RSVPs from the show.

Desktop Features

🏁 The Starting Line — your home base: quick stats, weekend shows, and recently viewed at a glance.
🗺️ Map View — see shows plotted on an interactive map, with 🌗 day/night styles (black & white by day, charcoal after dark).
⌨️ Keyboard Shortcuts — press / to search, 1-8 for tabs, Esc to go back.
🦇 Batman Theme — deep black with yellow accents. Pick it (or any car movie theme) in the theme picker — there's no separate light/dark toggle.

Shows Near Me

Step 1: In the Shows tab, tap 📍 Near Me.

Step 2: Allow location access when your phone asks.

Step 3: Pick a distance — 10, 25, 50, 100, or 250 miles.

Step 4: Shows are sorted closest-first, with the mileage on each card.

Step 5: Tap ✕ Near Me to go back to the normal list.

💡 Rough fix? If the app warns your location is only accurate to a mile or more, your phone couldn't get a GPS fix and estimated from Wi-Fi/your internet connection — which can point at your provider instead of you. Turn on location services/GPS for a precise spot.

Map Styles, Day & Night

Every map in the app — Shows, Trips, and Cruise — has a 🌗 style button. Tap it to cycle Auto → ☀️ Day → 🌙 Night. On Auto, maps are light by day and dark from 7 PM to 7 AM. Both looks are black & white (clean gray by day, charcoal at night), and your pick is remembered across all the maps.

Back Button

On Android, the back button works naturally — from a show or chat, it takes you back to the main screen. From the main screen, the first press shows "Press back again to exit" so you never close the app by accident. Press twice quickly to actually exit.

👥 18. Car Clubs

Join or Start a Club

Car clubs get their own page with a member roster and a private club chat.

Step 1: Open the 👥 Clubs tab (in the ☰ More menu).

Step 2: Browse clubs or tap + Start a Club to create your own.

Step 3: Tap Join club — the club chat unlocks for members.

💡 Tip: Club founders get a ⭐ next to their name in the member list.

🎨 Your Club's Own Colors

The moment a club is created, it gets its own colors — generated from the club's name itself, so no two clubs wear the same. Members see them the second they open the club: the club page, club events, and club chat are all dressed in the club's colors. It's a members-only perk — people who haven't joined still see the club in standard Show & Shine red.

Club admins can complete the branding with the club's logo: tap 🖼️ Logo on the club page and pick an image. It appears at the top of the club page alongside the club colors — members only, just like the colors.

💡 Tip: Colors are born from the name — if a club admin renames the club, fresh colors are generated from the new name.

✏️ Editing Your Club

If you run the club, open it and tap ✏️ Edit club to change the name, description, city, and state.

⭐ Club Admins & Officers

Whoever starts a club is its first admin (marked with a ⭐). Admins can edit the club and post events. To make another member an admin — your club's officers, for example — an admin simply taps their name in the Members list and chooses ⭐ Make admin. Tap the same name again to remove admin. A club always keeps at least one admin, so promote someone before the last admin steps down.

💬 Club Chat — Photos & Videos

The club chat isn't just text: members can share 📸 photos and 🎥 videos right in the conversation.

📅 Club Events & RSVPs

Step 1: Club admins tap + Add Event on the club page.

Step 2: Start from scratch — or pull in a show from the listings, or pull in one of your trips to turn it into a club run. The details fill in for you.

Step 3: Add a flyer image if you have one.

Step 4: Members tap 🎟️ RSVP on the event to say they're going — the count shows right on the event.

Upcoming events from your clubs show up on 🏁 The Starting Line as Club News — flyer, date, and how many are going — so you never miss a club night.

Document Your Build

Share your project car's progress over time — others follow along.

Step 1: Open the 🔨 Builds tab (in the ☰ More menu).

Step 2: Tap + Start a Build and name your project.

Step 3: Tap + Post update to share progress — attach as many photos as you like to an update; they all live in that update's photo tile.

Step 4: Others tap 👀 Follow to keep up with your build.

📸 Lots of photos? Once a build has more than 10 photos, a 📸 Build photos gallery appears at the top of the build — browse them 10 at a time with the ‹ Prev 10 / Next 10 › arrows.

🔍 Tap any photo to enlarge it — in builds, garages, chats, everywhere in the app. Tap the big photo (or anywhere around it) to close it; with several photos, arrows page through them full-screen.

💡 Tip: Post photos of every stage — frame-off, paint, engine, interior. People love watching a build come together!

✏️ Editing & Deleting Your Build

✏️ Edit build — on your own build, change the title and description anytime.
🗑 Delete build — removes the whole thread, including all its updates and photos. Only the build's owner can do this.

Live From the Show

On show day, the 📡 Live tab lists every show happening today.

Step 1: Open the 📡 Live tab (in the ☰ More menu). It lists all of today's shows — tap 📍 Near Me to narrow it to shows near you (pick a distance: 10–250 miles), and tap it again to switch back to all shows.

Step 2: Tap 📍 Check in when you arrive — others see the live headcount.

Step 3: Tap View live feed to see who's there and the live photo stream.

Step 4: Tap 📸 Share a live photo to post pics as things happen — burnouts, awards, cool rides rolling in.

💡 Tip: The feed refreshes automatically, so you can follow along even if you couldn't make it!

🏎️ 23. Cruise Mode

Who's Out Cruising Right Now

Step 1: Tap the 🏎️ Cruise tab and hit I'm Cruising.

Step 2: Allow location access — your dot appears on the live map.

Step 3: Your position updates about every 45 seconds while you're out.

Step 4: On the map, green is you and orange is other cruisers. Tap anyone's marker to see their car and send them a 💬 DM.

Step 5: Tap Stop Cruising when you're done — or it switches itself off after 4 hours.

💡 Tip: Cruise Mode is strictly opt-in. You're only visible while it's on, and no location history is ever stored.

The Map Looks After You

🎯 Find me — tap it any time to snap the map back to your marker.
Everyone in frame — the map automatically zooms and centers so every cruiser on the road fits on screen.
Reload-proof — if the app reloads while you're cruising, it picks your session right back up — the button will already say Stop Cruising.
Indoor-friendly — if GPS can't get a fix (it happens inside buildings), the app falls back to your network location. The status text next to the button always tells you what's happening — getting your location, live, or what went wrong.

Your Cruise Dashboard

While you're cruising, a dashboard opens above the map: a big live speedometer plus four tiles — Trip miles, Time, Avg speed, and Top speed for this cruise. It all runs off your phone's GPS while Cruise Mode is on, and resets next time you head out.

🏁 Performance Timer

Step 1: Come to a full stop — the panel says 🟢 Staged when it's ready.

Step 2: Launch! The timer starts itself the moment you roll, and fills in your 0–60 mph and ¼-mile times as you cross them. Session bests are kept alongside.

Step 3: Slow back to a stop to stage the next run, or tap Reset run to clear it.

📡 Honest numbers: times come from phone GPS (about one fix per second), so treat them as a close estimate — for fun and bragging rights, not an official timeslip. Set everything up before you roll, and never watch the phone while driving.

📡 Cruiser Radar

With Cruiser Radar on (it's the checkbox on the dashboard — on by default), your bell rings when another cruising member comes within half a mile of you — and theirs rings too. No names and no exact spot: just a friendly "cruiser nearby" heads-up so you can wave them down at the next stop. It won't re-ring for the same cruiser for 30 minutes, and it only works while you're both cruising. Switch it off any time and you're map-only.

Day & Night Map Styles

Tap the 🌗 style button to cycle Auto → ☀️ Day → 🌙 Night. On Auto, the map is light by day and goes dark from 7 PM to 7 AM. Both styles are black & white — a clean gray map by day, charcoal-dark at night — easy on the eyes in the car. Your choice is remembered and applies to every map in the app: Shows, Trips, and Cruise.

🪟 HUD Mode — Glass & Clip Dash

Tap 🪟 HUD (top of the Cruise tab, or on the Cruise Dashboard) to turn your phone into a driving display. Glass mirrors the screen so you can lay the phone flat on the dash and read it reflected in the windshield: giant speed, nothing else competing. Clip Dash is the normal way up for a phone in a dash clip: a dark street map that follows you, your cruisers on it, and a small speed chip. Tap ⛶ Full to go true fullscreen, and ✕ Exit (or tap the speed) to leave. In Clip Dash, 🌙 Night / ⬜ Mono restyles the map and the 🔆 slider sets brightness — set them before you roll. The screen stays awake while the HUD is open.

🧭 HUD Nav — directions to a show, glyph-style

Open any show and tap 🧭 HUD Nav — or tap Shows inside the HUD and pick from the list. Your state's shows come first in that list, with the rest of the country below them. The HUD now guides you: a big arrow pointing the way the next turn takes you, the street name and how far to the turn, plus minutes and miles to go. It re-routes by itself if you miss a turn, and 🏁 tells you when you've arrived. In Clip Dash you also see the whole route drawn on the map. The arrow reads your direction of travel from GPS, so it settles once you're rolling — at a standstill it points by compass. Set up your destination before you drive, and let the glyphs do the glancing.

Shrinking Big Videos

Got a video that's too big? Your phone can shrink it before uploading — pick a level:

🔥 High — 1080p, sharpest.
⚖️ Medium — 720p, a good balance.
💾 Low — 480p, smallest and fastest.
📤 Upload as-is — skip shrinking entirely.

Shrinking happens on your phone in real time — a progress bar shows it working, and a 60-second video takes about 60 seconds to shrink. Keep the app open while it works.

📤 Share — sends a link back to the reel in Show & Shine.
⬇️ Download — saves the video to your phone, ready to post to TikTok or Facebook yourself.
